WHAT IS THE MEANING OF CHANGE?
There has being uproar since the last six federal appointments made by President Buhari. I hope this sentiments will not create distrust among the President Party to the extent that the opposition party will mock at them.
The promised changed by the Governing All Progressive Congress [APC] is not clear to the public, particularly those below the poverty line. So, what does Change mean in Nigeria? Is it just the replacement of the former President and his Ministers? Or Is it just a mantra to win election?
As a citizen of Nigeria, I wish to ask, do we really know the number of offices the President has to replace by appointments? we know the number of Ministers we ought to have, though yet to be appointed. Do we have idea of the criteria of assessment for appointment by the President? we only know one criteria, a prospective candidate should not have record of corruption. so, we as we do not know fully the answers to these questions, these uproars will gain more amber of discord in the polity unless explanations are given.
Today, the Nigerian people have gotten so many definitions of Public/Political offices and Corruption that everything and every actions has political connotations. And because the public has suffered many abuse of office they are finding it difficult to trust and believe any occupant of public office.
I wish to state that with the trend in Nigeria in the past 16 years, I do not blame any person expressing sentiment because:
I make bold to state that leaders vision should not be subject to many interpretations, otherwise motives and desires will not agree with attitude. These attitude of piecemeal appointments after 90 days in office out of his 1460 days is making a lot of people ask questions.
I believe that it is possible to balance the appointments as observed, as there are qualified persons in all the regions. And these includes those with corruption free pedigree mostly among the ethnic minorities who do not have any person to speak for them.
The President, will be a Change President when our circumstances will be considered as he introduces the so much needed changes for our betterment.

- We are so distrustful of each other that merit is not a consideration for appointments.
