TODAY'S NIGERIA AND OUR FUTURE

I have being pondering of late the cause my country Nigeria is taking, with the present captains, the prophesy of Paul the Apostle in 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 come to mind, that " in the last days perilous times shall come.
 " For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
 " Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
 "Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 
 " Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away"

 Thank you Apostle Paul, for X-raying our present day Nigeria. 
In present day Nigeria, there is no doubt that we live in the perilous time, very precarious days. The fact is that all Nigerians fall in one category of this perilous time: perpetrator or victim. 
    Those who are Covetous ( the corrupt ), those who are boasters ( liars) and those who are Proud ( Cheaters) are all very much within our ranks and files, in facts some of  them are our parents, siblings and associates. And we easily see these people as the perpetrators and consider ourselves victims. In my view, those who knows the covetous, boasters and proud and fail to counsel them or In the words of Apostle Paul, " from such turn away" are themselves perpetrators not victims.
  In today's Nigeria it is big business to become a Blasphemer, disobedient to parents(Elders), unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers and name it.  When you meet people who are engaged in these vices they give it a cosmetic name " Politics " or " diplomatic ". They cherish in these evil and their cohorts includes fathers, mothers and the clergy.
 The trend today is so full of fear, that some people choice not to bear children because they feel their is no safe place in Nigeria to care for them because of insecurity and wickedness everywhere. 
 In Nigeria of today truth has taken flight. You are expected to support an evil doer because he comes from the same tribe with you. In Nigeria today, you are expected to commit crime before you are recognized by the leadership. In Nigeria of today, you are expected to lie before you do business and profit from it. Otherwise you do not have a wise sense of judgment.
  The keys I have to be happy in the midst of all these are my scriptures, the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ, in this Book of Mormon there are 543 questions that resolve my concerns,  I have also the Doctrine and Covenant, which is a book with modern day revelations for our time and the Pearl of Great Price, as strange as some of these books are to some people who will read this, they have given me a strong optimism about Nigeria when I think about the future of Nigeria for myself and my children. 
 In other words the future of Nigeria is found in the scriptures if we read them and apply their content.
