CONFUSION IN GOVERNMENT

In today Nigeria, the action and inaction of the present crop of leaders is shrouded with uncleared motives. Take for instance, two high ranking managers of the Nigerian Economy, the CBN Governor, rated the Nigerian economy as not 'healthy' and the Minister of Finance, who doubles as the Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy gives herself credit, that the health of the economy is well.
The truth of the matter is that you do not need to be an economist to know that the Nigerian economy is not 'healthy'. The economy which marginal proposition to consume out-weights the marginal propensity to save with over 70%. The economy where the government cannot inject goods and services into the economy within a fiscal year. The economy of which the managers keep borrowing and are unable to pay both internationally and domestically.
The other surprising aspect of the contraption called Nigeria, is that in the address to the Nation as we mark 53 years of anniversary of independence, the captain of this ship called Nigeria, appears to be a sailor who has not been at shore for a long time. The security situation is getting worse, but he treats it mild, the crisis in all corners of the country are threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria, he looks at it with a child's eye, and decide to congregate politicians in a National dialogue, perhaps to discuss possibility of extending his hold unto the wrecking ship not to capsize under his supervision.
In today Nigeria, the future of majority of the youths and young people are in a scale tilting to degradation and lost of hope, as the Nations Universities are under lock and key. One must ask, who will takeover from the rulers not leaders of today? Who will repair this damage as well as pay these loans that are accumulated by this administration? What is this thing call National Economy? Who is in charge of the Economy, Goodluck Jonathan or Ngozi Okonjo- Iwuala?
As we listen to this political rulers, bossing all of us, may we pray that leaders will come, to explain the situation, answer our questions and inspire all of us to put our shoulder to the wheel of Nigeria.
